Motorsport Manager – Car Setup

I’ve been playing Motorsport Manager on iOS for a while. Part of the game involves selecting the right setup for your race car. I was doing some hunting around online to see if anyone had produced a Motorsport Manager car setup guide and as far as I could tell no-one has. I’ve been keeping my own list and updating it from time to time. I don’t think it’s 100% right. Every now and then I’ll change something, or get driver feedback that tells me I’ve got it wrong… but here goes. Comment below if you have a better idea.

Just my observations on these settings.
Pay attention to which of your drivers make the recommendation. Sometimes the driver who makes it will be faster with their own recommended settings.

The driver quality and car quality affect what the settings should be. I’ve got an all 99 and a high 90s driver and half the time my high 90s driver beats my perfect driver in qualifying using these settings vs. what my perfect driver wants.

I’ve also noticed there is about a 4-6 race delay in a new, or at least a promoted driver reaching their full potential no matter their quality. I promoted a perfect driver and my veteran driver ran rings around them for the first 6 races.

I hope this might help others with the frustrations I’ve had trying to figure out drivers and setups.

Thank you Greg for compiling this list, it’s helped a lot.

    Hi Greg,
Tell me… is your list above updated according to the suggestions on the comments?
Regards from a fellow biker, in Mozambique!

    • February 9, 2018 at 6:34 am

Hi Ruca, at first yes, but I stopped a while back. My advice is to check the list and comments and experiment. More and more it seems like there may be no 1 perfect setup for the racetracks. Possibly it’s dependant on the driver, or weather?

      • February 10, 2018 at 3:18 am

        Ok, Greg. Thanks!

Great list!! Not all setups are correct for my drivers, but it helps a lot!!

  42. April 1, 2018 at 3:40 am

I think different gear ratios work differently for different drivers
I could’ve swore one of my drivers did better in Seoul using neutral straights and the other one did better with neutral neutral

I have a question. I love this list but i’m failing on the tires. I can’t seem to figure out when to pit and change the tires without dropping from 1st to 8th or above.
